Porgy and Bess: A Concert of Songs with South-Holland Symphony Orchestra - Oude Kerk, Naaldwijk
The South Holland Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and we're celebrating with special concerts. The theme for our anniversary is "Festive, Connecting, and Unforgettable!" To mark the occasion, we're collaborating with the Dario Fo theater choir to create a festive production.
With classical music that resonates with many people (Dvořák's Ninth Symphony) and light American music from Gershwin's Porgy & Bess, we transport the audience to a festive evening full of connection. This connection is also evident in the music itself. Both Dvořák and Gershwin drew inspiration from African-American traditions in their writing and interwoven these with the classical form of a symphony or opera. Both pieces form a musical story about longing, hope, and cultural recognition.

Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ with Consensus Vocalis, Schouwberg Hengelo
In April 2001, the building now known as Schouwburg Hengelo opened on the former site of the Concertgebouw. In 2026, it will celebrate its 25th anniversary. A milestone!
In 2008, Pink Floyd's The Wall was one of Schouwburg Hengelo's first in-house productions. On August 22, 2008, approximately 7,000 people enjoyed a fantastic performance in the market square (in the pouring rain!).
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, The Wall will be performed again in April 2026. This time, not on Marktplein, but naturally inside the theater itself. It will be a completely new production directed by Daniël van Klaveren, artistic director of Theater Sonnevanck.
The Wall is a gift to the city and its inhabitants, hence the low entrance fee.
The Wall is a co-production with Theater Sonnevanck, Phion and Consensus Vocalis.
