Shanice Skinner is a Canadian lyric soprano from Nova Scotia. She has been seen recently in opera choruses at Nederlandse Reisopera for Die Zauberflöte (2023) and Orphée et Eurydice (2023). She will have her solo role debut with NRO as Suor Osmina in their upcoming production of Suor Angelica. Other recent opera work includes Carmen with Opera2Day (2025). She looks forward to her upcoming debut at Het Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw Eindhoven in concert this December performing songs  by Florence Price.

Shanice has performed as a semifinalist within international vocal competitions, including the 2022 Voice of Black Opera in Birmingham, England (The Black British Classical Foundation), and 2023 Les Grandes Voix Lyriques D'Afrique in Paris, France (Africa Lyric's Opera).

Her music education includes: a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Studies from The Royal Conservatoire of The Hague (2022), as well as an Opera Diploma (2020) and an Honours Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance (2017) from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Shanice is a member of vocal ensemble Consensus Vocalis and was a 2023-2024 trainee with Netherlands Chamber Choir (NKK NXT).
