"Man is not a beautiful creature." This is how the Polish philosopher and gulag survivor Barbara Skarga summed up human nature. Looking at the twentieth century, it's hard to come to any other conclusion. The totalitarian seduction of fascism, Nazism, and communism carried with it total destruction. But only in the darkest times does one truly understand the value of light. The program " Women in Dark Times" focuses on ten women who embody this.
