CIRCE

CIRCE is the result of 2023-2024 Nederlands Kamerkoor NXT Traineeship. As a 4-8 voice female acapella ensemble based in the Netherlands, CIRCE aims to make socially-engaged choral theatre of the future that resonates on the multiplicity of female narratives. This stems from our formation as women all from different countries and musical backgrounds singing together as one.

The performances blend acapella genres, movement and improvisations to create immersive performances that are fresh, dynamic and modern. Our performance collaborations have brought us to galleries, museums and site-specific performances in both The Netherlands and Belgium including Kunsthal KAdE Amersfoort, Museum Helmond, De Pont Museum Tilburg, Kröller-Müller Museum, Museum W Weert, UITnacht Arnhem, KMSKA Antwerp and MA Festival Brugge.

CIRCE is originally comprised of artists María Suárez López, Joana Guiné, Agnese Allegra, Shanice Skinner, Emma Wessleus, Fran Van Lysebetten, Elaine Hakkaart & Vanessa Guinadi.
